　　由 Ghost Games 操刀的《極速快感》新作由舊系列的宗旨「稀有超跑+名勝風景+警匪追逐」，重新定義為「豐富的自訂功能、純正的城市汽車文化、開放的午夜世界以及引人入勝的敘事風格」，而這一新精神正是汲取自舊系列《飆風再起》再加以重新詮釋。新《極速快感》將重新放眼大量的市售跑車，豐富的自定義功能，以及蔚為主流的開放式世界玩法，而這一切將由與 DICE 現正傾全力開發之《星際大戰：戰場前線》同樣版本的 Forstbite 技術打造。
 
 
　　「《極速快感》系列意遊戲界中作極富盛名的代表作之一，而我們正盡力讓這老牌子以重新啟動的方式重回巔峰」Ghost Games 製作人 Marcus Nilsson 表示：「在接續約二十年的品牌歷史之後，我們休息了一年，我們想打造我們真正想要的遊戲，因此我們聆聽了粉絲們的意見，並將竭力呈現吸引並激發粉絲們對極速以及汽車文化之熱情」
 
 
　　同時官方也宣布，新《極速快感》將會與競速品牌「Speedhunter」合作，確保新《極速快感》將有完整的現代汽車文化，Speedhunter 也透露他們將近盡所能協助完善新《極速快感》的工作。
